Judge Recomending Jack Thompson Be found GuiltyPublished by gamexxover on Friday, May 23, 2008
Bar Trial Judge Makes Recommendation That
Jack Thompson Be Found Guilty on 27 of 31 Professional Misconduct Charges,
Now The Florida Supreme Court Must Rule On The Recommendations.
Just after having his $600,000,000 GTA Vice City lawsuit tossed out by the New Mexico appeals court for failure to provide a valid legal basis for the damage claim and failure to refile on time, Judge Dava Tunis has recommended to the Florida Supreme Court that Jack Thompson be found guilty on 27 professional misconduct charges.
Listed below are just a few of the offenses Judge Tunis is claiming Jack is guilty of.
Knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal
Knowingly disobeying an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
Communicating the merits of the case with a judge before whom the proceeding is pending
Using means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay or burden a third person
Engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
Engaging in conduct in connection with the practice of law that is prejudicial to the administration of justice, including to knowingly or through callous indifference disparage or humiliate litigants or other lawyers
Making statements that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge
If Jack is indeed found guilty of these offenses by the Florida Supreme Court, he may lose his license to practice law which may shatter what many believe his dream/goal of striking it rich with a videogame industry lawsuit jackpot. (like I said jack, this is just peoples opinion so dont try suing me for saying it)
A disciplinary hearing regarding possible sanctions against Thompson is scheduled before Judge Dava Tunis for the 4th of June 2008.
Jack being Jack, has made a number of allegations against Judge Tunis , as well as filing lawsuits against the Florida Bar and Florida Supreme Court in response to the charges and sanctions against him.
